INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips, divided I recommend Hu Chocolate Gems

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add the milk and half of the chocolate chips to a small saucepan and warm on medium-low heat. Stir occasionally to melt.
  • Once all of the chocolate chips have melted, remove from heat and stir in the remaining chocolate chips until melted. You'll know it's ready once the warm chocolate sauce develops a creamy texture with a bit of shine.

NOTES

  • This chocolate sauce can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.  I recommend using a glass jar so you can safely reheat the sauce in the microwave.  A plastic microwave-safe bowl can leach harmful chemicals.
  • Do not use higher heat to melt the chocolate.  This can make the oil separate from the chocolate and ruin the sauce.
  • If you prefer a runnier sauce, add a tablespoon or more milk to make it a little thinner.
