This easy tropical green smoothie recipe will awaken your taste buds and instantly transport your imagination to a warm sunny island filled with music and good company!
2cupsunsweetened almond milkfor a thinner consistency, increase by ½ cup
2cupspacked baby spinachabout 2.5 ounces
1 ½teaspoonginger pastefinely minced ginger works too
3scoopsVital Proteins Collagen Peptidesabout 30 grams (see note)
4tablespoonscoconut oillook for an organic, virgin, unrefined, and cold-pressed version (see note)
2cupsfrozen mango chunksabout 10 ounces
2cupsfrozen pineapple chunksabout 10 ounces
2medium bananas, slicedfreeze ahead of time for 4 hours
INSTRUCTIONS
In the order listed, add all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender.
Set the blender speed to low and begin blending. Gradually increase the speed to the highest level and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
Pour the smoothie into separate glasses and serve immediately.
NOTES
Feel free to use your favorite protein powder as any kind should work.
I do not melt the coconut oil before adding it to the blender, but if you find it doesn't blend well, you can melt it in a 900-watt microwave using 30% power for about 40 seconds. Stir to melt completely.
Using frozen fruits is key to making this smoothie. It will create the consistency of a milkshake and provide enough natural sweetness. Avoid adding ice as this will water down the flavor, resulting in a bland and boring beverage!
